The world of baseball cards started to get bigger entering the 1970's. More and more collector's were building sets and saving their cards to pass on to the next generation. 1970 - 1974 saw rookie cards of Thurman Munson, Steve Garvey, Bert Blyleven, Carlton Fisk, Mike Schmidt, and Dave Winfield. 1975 marked a landmark for collector to grade key rookie cards of George Brett, Robin Yount, Gary Carter, and Jim Rice. 1976 and 1977 produced quality rookies such as Dennis Eckersley, Andre Dawson, and Dale Murphy. The decade came to a close with a dull legend rookie card in the 1978 Paul Molitor & Alan Trammell, while the 1979 key rookie card was Ozzie "The Wizard" Smith.
